An incomplete copper alloy and cloisonné enamel circular brooch of Weetch Type 20 A. The brooch comprises a circular plate with pin fixings at the rear and a raised edge to form a circular recess in which is a decorative enamel inlay. The pin is missing. Projecting from the edge of the plate are the remnants of eight evenly spaced circular lobes. These originally had a small circular recess to hold a glass inlay, however only four are complete enough to exhibit this recess and none retain the inlay. The recess on the front of the plate is filled with a geometric design of Cloisonné enamel created by forming cells from copper alloy wire to house the enamel inlay. There is a framing circular band around the outside. Inside this is a design comprising a central quatrefoil motif of four drop-shaped cells of white enamel with four further drop shapes set around (one extending from between each pair of  white cells), two of these are filled with dark blue enamel, one with turquoise and one with white and turquoise. Between these outer drop-shapes are four large cells of dark blue enamel. At the rear set on the diameter of the plate are a small catchplate and an incomplete pair of pierced lugs which would have held the axis bar for the missing pin. The copper alloy elements of the brooch are gilded.
