A pierced silver Post Medieval halfgroat of the Commonwealth dating c. 1649-1660.

Reverse: depicts shields of St George and Ireland with II above. London Tower mint.  As, North (1991), p.206, No 2728.

Measurements: diameter 15.72mm, thickness 1.12mm, weight 0.75g.

The flan is pierced from reverse to obverse with a circular aperture 2.23mm in diameter at 12 O'clock above the George shield.
