An incomplete silver Post Medieval coin, probably a groat of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), dating to AD 1558-1561.
Ref: North (1991: 133, no 1986)
Both faces are virtually blank and/or illegible except for 'GI' on the obverse and 'V' on the reverse. There are also the faint remains of the long cross fourcée over shield. The remaining visible legend and reverse description indicate that this is a groat of Elizabeth I.
