An incomplete strap plate from a buckle, of Medieval dating (AD 1100 to AD 1500).
Less than 25% of the strap plate is present. It consists of the folded end around the strap bar, with part of the strap bar and base of pin still present.Iron corrosion products cover the surface, so any decoration is obscured.
It measures 10.6 mm in length, 12.1 mm wide and 5.7 mm thick. It weighs 0.7 g.
The strap plate fragment is a dark green to brown colour with an even surface patina.
