A complete Early Medieval to Medieval cast lead spindle whorl, of Walton Rogers type B, dating c. 700-1200. The spindle whorl is cylindrical in form with rounded edges and an oval perforation through the centre. The diameter of the perforation is 8-9.2mm. A groove extends across the opening of the aperture at open end. The surfaces are all very worn and abraded, with widespread scratching. The patina is grey in colour.
The spindle whorl measures 20.9mm diameter, 19.5mm in height and weighs 45.86 grams.
Broadly similar to Walton Rodgers 1997, p. 1739, fig. 807, no. 6558.
