An incomplete copper alloy hooked tag dating to the early post medieval period (c.AD 1450-1550). Read (2008) Type E, Class 3 circular / sub-circular.
The object is cast in one piece with a moulded-relief openwork plate in the form of a central chequered lozenge within an engrailed edge with four perforations on each side. The lozenge may represent a pinecone, pineapple or a thistle. Integral to the top of the plate is a rectangular eye, at a base is the hook with terminates in a worn break. The reverse is flat and undecorated.
