A cast copper alloy stirrup strap mount of Williams Class A, Type 1, dating to the 11th century AD. The plate is sub triangular, with incised decoration comprising addorsed beast heads with interlaced bodies and incised details of the eyes and mouth. The brow and snout of each head project to form lobes to each side, with tendrils running back from the brows to smaller flanking lobes at the tapering upper portion of the plate, where the loop around the upper rivet hole has broken off. The lower edge of the plate has a pair of rivet holes containing the remnants of rusted iron rivets with a flange on the reverse containing a portion of rusted iron from the stirrup.
