Composite post-medieval lead/tin alloy button with an embedded copper alloy wire loop. The hollow head is hollow and biconvex. The front part is more elevated and is moulded in low relief with an elaborate sexfoil and a central pellet. The rear, which is attached to the front probably with solder, is pierced by two blow holes. Close in construction but a little less so in decoration to Read 2010, no. 453. Weight 2.7g. Diameter 12.1mm. Length 12.3mm. Length of head only 10.4mm. Late 16th - 17th century.
