A complete Early Medieval to Medieval copper-alloy stirrup strap mount dating to circa AD 1000-1100. It is broadly shield-shaped plan and plano-convex in section. Its edges are rounded containing transverse ribs. At the pointed ended is a rectangular knop under which is a circular suspension loop. The body is openwork with with seven circular arapertures inclusive of the suspension loop aforementioned. A circular aperture is positioned at the oppposite end of the suspension loop. In the middle are two flanking sub-rectangular apertures in the centre of which are position three circular apertures arranged in a trefoil. The uppermost aperture is larger in diameter. The bottom edge is offset at a right ange to the body. It contains two in situ iron rivets with iron corrosion around them.
The mount is similar to those depicted in Williams 1997, pg 88, nos 411-414.
