A complete Post-Medieval silver hammered shilling of King Edward VI (AD 1547-1553), dating to AD 1549. Arrow mint mark dating to (AD 1547-1549), and reverse inscription of 'MDXLIX' dating the coin securely to AD 1549. Minted in London. An example of North, II, 1991, p. 122, no. 1918/1.

Reverse: Oval shield bearing the royal coat of arms within a garnished scrollwork border. Initials 'E' and 'R' at the sides.
Reverse inscription: (Arrow) TIMOR : DOMI[NI F]ONS : VITE : M : D : XLIX.
