Copper alloy brooch. Cast hinged Colchester derivative brooch, Mackreth type CD H 9b, also known as the East Midlands Enamelled type. Plain wings clenched behind retain an axis bar and a thin pin, and are clasped by a D-section bow with a groove down either side. Below the crest of the bow are at least three rectangular cells apt to receive enamel, separated by horizontal ridges. The lower bow and catch plate are lost. Suggested date: Early Roman, 75-130
