A complete post medieval 'hawking' whistle (c.1700-1850). Cast in a dark metal, likely a tin alloy, with casting seams evident on both sides of the whistle. Around the circumference above the mouthpiece is a small moulded line, with a pronounced moulded band above the sounding hole, before rising to a rounded end with a narrow projecting suspension piece with pieced hole.
