A post medieval to Modern silver and iron object, probably a dress accessory such as a posy holder or finial from a parasol, dating from AD 1750 - 1900. It is a cone of sheet silver filled with iron corrosion, possibly from an internal liner. The wide end of the cone has a decorative wavy edge. The sides are decorated with scales or feathers in relief. There is a band of beading round each end and the centre. It is 52.12mm long, diameter 14mm narrowing to 5.4mm and weight 8.76g. there is no visible maker's mark or hallmark.
No close parallel has been found on the PAS database, but there are antique versions of similar form, such as https://petercameronantiquesilver.com/product/a-victorian-silver-posy-holder/.
The style and form of this object suggests a late 19th or 19th century date, so this object has not been declared as potential Treasure as it is not old enough.
