An incomplete copper alloy finger ring dating to the Roman period (c.AD 43-400).
The ring has an oval bezel, in the centre of which is a recessed oval in the centre which was used to secure an intaglio that is now lost. The bezel tapers and thins to form the band. One side is incomplete and the shoulder terminates in a worn break. The rest of the band is squashed inwards forming a tight oval shape. The object has a mid green patina and smooth surface.
Dimensions: Length 17.41mm; width 7.76mm; thickness 1.62mm; weight 1.36g
A similar ring is illustrated in Crummy (1983: 48), see no.1796.
