An imcomplete Medieval to Post Medieval copper-alloy sword belt hooked fitting dating to circa AD 1500-1700. It is broadly rectangular in plan and plano-convex in section. Its body has a clumsy, possibly broken, U-shaped top edge. The body contains two slightly off centre circular rivet holes which would have contained now missing rivets. The body tapers gently inwards into a reverse facing hook. The front face may have been decorated but is now extremely abraded. The reverse is plain with pockets of iron staining.
The object is consistent with examples depicted in Read 2008: pg 217-219. A similar example is recorded on the database under NMS-BAF95B.
