Copper alloy locket fragment, as kindly identified by the finder. Oval back plate with upstanding flanged rim with a lug relating to closing the locket, bearing an incised floral motif on its back. Spots of gilding appear on the inner side, where they would probably have been concealed by a picture or item retained within the locket. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1850-1900
