UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT

Unique ID: NARC-204474

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A worn cast copper-alloy fragment of probable Roman date. The fragment is essentially rectangular both in plan and in section. It is largely undecorated on all of its faces although a number of raised ridges emerge from the obverse. Since these ridges are broken, as are the ends of the fragment, it is difficult to attribute this artefact a definitive use. The attribution of a probable Roman date comes primarily from the large amounts of Roman material found in the locale.
