A Medieval Scottish silver cut halfpenny of Alexander III (AD 1249-1286). First coinage (voided long cross and stars) probably type IIId or IV (Spink S5043 or 5044) dating to AD 1250-1280. Moneyer: Walter, mint: uncertain (possibly Glasgow based on the positioning of the words as two Glasgow reverse dies read WA/LTE/RO/HG). Reverse legend reads as [WA]/LTE/RO/[...]. Ref: Spink 2015, pg 17. 

Obverse shows a crowned head left with sceptre. Obverse legend reads: ALEXA[NDER REX]. Reverse shows a voided long cross with a six pointed star in each quarter present.

Die axis is 6 o'clock. Weight is 0.75g, diameter is 17.4mm, thickness is 0.8mm.
