Silver coin. Denarius of Julia Domna (193-211), kindly identified by the finder, Mint of Rome, 200-207; RIC vol. 4 part 1 page 168 no. 560. A magnified view achieved during image processing may suggest a copper alloy core coated with silver.

Obverse description: Bust coiffed and draped, seen from front, right.

Obverse inscription: IVLIA  AVGVSTA

Reverse description: Juno standing left holding patera and vertical sceptre, peacock to left.
