An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy lamp hanger dating to circa AD 1300-1450. It has three branching rectangular-sectioned arms, each of which terminates in an old break before it reaches a circular aperture. The arms are set perpendicular to the broadly rectangular-sectioned central stem. At the top ofhte stem is a circular suspension loop.On the underside of the stem at the junction of the arms is a D-shaped lug with central, circular aperture.
The object is consistent with examples depicted in Egan 1998: pg 131, nos 356-357, described as branched holders for hanging lamps.
