A cast copper alloy post Medieval spur rowel with eight triangular points, four of which have been shortened in antiquity, probably through wear or impact. Five triangular points have an incised line running mid-section along the point from tip to centre on both sides. The rowel is slightly convex on one side and concave on the other in profile. The rowel patina is dark brown in colour, with remains of dark red pigment visible on both sides. On the convex side on one of the triangular points a small area of gilding is visible. The central hole for the axis spindle is 3.8mm in diameter. The rowel measures 35.75mm in diameter at its widest point, and 3.25mm thick at its deepest point, and is 2.63 grams.
