[PONTIF] MAXI[M] reverse type depicting a female figure (Pax or Livia) seated right holding vertical sceptre in right hand and branch in left. Mint of Lyon. Cf. RIC I (2nd ed.), p. 95, no. 30.
Notes:
This type is known apocryphally as a "Tribute penny" having long been assumed to be the coin referred to in the gospel of Mark ("bring me a penny, that I may see it" (Mark 12:15)).
