A clipped Post-Medieval Silver 'Portcullis' half penny of James I first coinage dating from AD 1603 - 1604.
Obverse: Portcullis and chains in a beaded border. Mintmark: Thistle above.
Reverse: Thin long cross recercelée, three small pellets in each quarter all within a beaded border.
The flan is cracked and crinkled with little wear.
