A worn copper alloy Roman coin; a sestertius possibly of Lucilla dating to AD 164-169 (Reece period 7). Possibly [CERES] S C reverse depicting Ceres, veiled, draped, seated left on cista mystica from which a snake emerges, holding two corn-ears in right hand and torch in left hand. Mint of Rome. Compare RIC III Marcus Aurelius 1728 and SUR-E09A32. The coin is 29.7mm diameter, 3.5mm thick and 17.3g.
