An incomplete post medieval cast copper-alloy double looped asymmetrical buckle dating to c.1575-1700.
Description : the square cross-sectioned frame is sub-square in form with a slightly enlarged and pointed outside edge. The top loop is elongated rectangular and the lower is elongated oval. Dividing the loops is a flat rectangular cross-sectioned bar with a narrow constriction for the pin that is now missing. The surface has an even green patina, excepting patches of iron oxide around the central bar area, probably from an iron pin or possibly plate.
Measurements : length 17.0mm, width 15.6mm, thickness 1.8mm and weight 1.6g.
