An incomplete medieval silver penny of Richard I (1189-1199), Short Cross Class 2 (North 965), dating c.AD1189-90, moneyer: Turkil, mint: York. Ref: North 1994: p. 220; cf. Mass 2001: pl. 27 no. 730.

The coin is worn and chipped and there is a long crack in the flan following the line of the inner circle.
