A fragment of ceramic building material (CBM), possibly a tile and dating to the Roman period, circa AD 43-410. 

The fragment has an orange core with orange outer surface.  One face is slightly smoother and the other is more pitted and slightly darker in colour. The smoother face has very fine quartz inclusions

The fragment measures 65.3 mm in length, 51.5 mm in width and 18.3 mm in thickness. It weighs 71 grams.
