An incomplete Roman copper-alloy nail dating to AD 43-410 copper-alloy Roman nail, dating to AD 43-410. The head is broadly circular in plan and mushroom shaped in section. The shaft is rectangular in plan and tapers gently before terminating in ancient break.
It is consistent with globular headed examples are depicted in Crummy 1981: pg 115, fig 116.
