Two fragments of a Medieval copper-alloy purse bar frame dating to circa AD 1405-1500. Each frame is rectangular in plan and C-shaped in section. Its front face is triangular and convex with a central spine; its underside concave. The outer face of each fragment is decorated with a series of double saltires inscribed down one side. Circular attachment holes are present on the undecorated sides enabling the attachment of a bag. Fragment 1 has the remains of one complete and one incomplete hole whilst fragment 2 has two complete holes. On fragment 1 they are situated 2.9mm apart and are clumsily aligned. On fragment 2 they are situated at either end of the extant piece. Fragment 1 is slightly bent and distorted.
