Cast copper alloy pot leg fragment, probably from a cooking vessel, dating from the medieval or post medieval period, about AD 1200-1650. The leg is roughly rectangular, is flat on one face with rounded corners, while the other face has a central strengthening rib running lengthways with slight concaved grooves running either side. The fragment has a brown/green coloured patina with traces of what look like carbon deposits. It is broken at both ends. Dimensions length; 59.76mm, width: 41.25mm, thickness: 8.67mm, weight: 90.63g,
Similar: SWYOR-701CAD. Compare alos figure 4a in Butler, Green and Payne (2009) Finds Research Datasheet 41, which suggests a date of Medieval to early 17th century for pot legs of this style.
