A late Bronze Age to early Iron Age copper-alloy socketed sickle, dating to c. 850 - 600 BC. Ewart Park / Llyn Fawr phase. The sickle is complete, though fragments of the blade edge are missing. The socketed sickle has a double edged cresentic blade with a central narrow midrib. The tip of the blade is integrally cast, it is sub-conical tapering from the open mouth to the top and is hollow throughout, organic material from the original handle remains in the socket, therefore the sockets depth is undetermined. Approximately half-way between the socket and the beginning of the sickle blade, on one side is a circular peg hole.
