Copper alloy button and loop fastener, Wild Class 6b. An elongated triangular loop with ragged oval aperture is bent sharply at its base, then expands to form a rectangular flat plate with incised linear borders. A glossy patina is so dark as to resemble paint, which it probably is not – this polishing perhaps arose from prolonged contact with the fabric of garments. Suggested date: Early Roman, 100-200
