Fragment of a cast lead alloy unidentified object. The object consists of 4mm thick material comprising a rectangular section decorated in relief, with a sub-oval externally-convex segment hinged away through damage along a line of decoration.  The rectangular section has a slight convex curve and on the reverse of the unbroken side has a thickened rim.  The outside of the section is decorated in relief with a central pellet surrounded by radiating lines extending to both edges. The hinged segment is also relief decorated with what look like two conjoined shells or hearts. No decorative parallel could be found amongst medieval ampullae and the decoration overall has a more late 17th-18th century appearance. Suggested date circa AD1650-1800.
