A complete forged/wrought iron wavy rimmed horseshoe of Clark type 2B dating to the Medieval period (c. 1150-1300). The shoe is crescent shaped and broadly rectangular in cross-section. The wavy outside edges consist of three rounded lobes while the inner edge is arched and slightly correspondingly lobed. Each lobe has a punched sub-oval/square-shaped nail hole in the centre, all of which are infilled with deposition residue. The heels are slightly inclined together. The calkins projecting from the upper surface at the end of each heel are broadly rectangular in plan and cross section, both of which are worn and damaged slightly. Two of the nail holes have a surviving nail through them. Each nail has a flat hemispherical head and a flat elongated and broken rectangular shank. The toe is worn and gently rounded. The entire shoe is heavily rusted and corroded.

The shoe measures 110mm in length, 104mm in width and 8mm in thickness.. It weighs 220 grams.
