Scale tang wrought iron knife and bolster, with bone handle dating to the medieval period (1450 - 1550 AD). The handle is decorated carved with ring and dot design. There are three distict sections in design, each divided by two traverse linear grooves either side of a traverse row of rings inbetween, each section has the further incise dots arranged in a lozenge shape, and the last section four dots in the centre and dots around the outside edge of the shaped end. The handle is attached to the knife blade by two iron rivits through the centre and end of the handle. The handle is circular in section and tapers towards the blade. The blade of the knife does not remain bar some corrosional products, but would have probably been bellied.
