An incomplete copper alloy domed thimble dating from the Mediaeval period, about AD1330 - 1400. The thimble is short, wide and has a domed top, which is damaged and partially missing. The walls are thin, suggesting it was hammered. It has five rectangular panels on the walls, deliminated by outlined strapwork geometric decoration. Each panel is filled with drilled circular pits, with either five or six rows, but apparently not arranged in either rows or columns. The design continues to the apex with five triangular panels on the crown. It is 18.3mm in diameter, 10.3mm in height and weighs 4.22g.
