An incomplete Post Medieval copper alloy coin weight of Charles I dating to AD 1625-1632. The coin weight is for a Unite (20 shillings at a weight of 140½ grains). The weight is sub-square in plan with chipped sides and is well worn across both faces.

Obverse: crowned bust left with CARO REX surrounding. 

Reverse: XX with crown above and S below. 

For a comparable example see PAS record BH-318044. Here it is stated that square coin weights were succeeded by round ones from AD 1632.

The overall dimensions are as follows: 15mm in width, 2mm in thickness and 5g in weight.
