A fragment of a Medieval copper alloy rotary key of Ward-Perkins' London type VI, dating to circa AD 1100-1500, which has lost its bow. The stem is cylindrical with a sub-rounded cross-section of 10.2mm diameter, and has a hollow end at the bit. The bit projects and is cylindrical and complex with (originally) three or four hooped projections.
