A white metal unidentified object of unknown date, possibly metal working debris but undiagnostic. It is an irregular oval in plan, D shaped (plano-convex) in cross-section, but the flatter face is also undulating, with a rounded convex area at each end. There are no corners suggesting it may be a cooled droplet or spill, or even an ingot of sorts. The metal is silver coloured with some areas of black patination, but is 'as found', not having been cleaned post-recovery. There are no markings or evidence of working except for a small flattened facet at one end which could also be damage. The surface is covered with a myriad of small abrasions and scratches. The mass is also undiagnostic, not fitting obviously into any obvious standard of measurement. The object is 31.4mm long, 26.4mm wide and 10.4mm thick. It weighs 37.22g. The metal has not been scientifically tested, meaning it could be an unpatinated lead or other white metal alloy, or it could be silver. It could be the residue from metal working, or could a more modern object that has melted and pooled. It is also possible that it iis a touchpiece or amulet of some sort. The general lack of patination makes a fairly recent date more likely.
