An early-medieval silver cut halfpenny of Edward the Confessor (1042-66), PACX type with obverse type Pagan Bi and reverse type Hild Da (c.1042-4; North 814), moneyer: Leofnoth, mint: Gloucester. Ref: North 1994: 179; Pagan 2011: 29, 36, 53, cf. nos 86-7.

Although a cut halfpenny, the obverse is a very probable die link to Pagan 86 (Gloucester), the reverse reading [P]AX[X] rather than PACX seen on a coin of Leofnoth from the city (Pagan 87). The spelling of Leofnoth on this coin, however, is the same as on Pagan 86 but has the short cross design of Hildebrand Da (Hild Da) seen on Pagan 87. It is only the third example of a Gloucester-minted coin of Leofnoth for the PAXC type (the other two are Pagan 2011 nos 86-7).

This appears to be only the second coin of Hild Da recorded by the PAS, the other from thr mint at York (SWYOR-8E2A99).
