An incomplete copper alloy Buckle plate with attached side loop of Post Medieval date (AD 1550-1650).  The object is part of a suite of items for a sword belt. The object is composed of a single plate with waisted sides, a trilobe terminal and flanking knops to either side of the projecting lugs for the strap bar, both of which are broken. The surface has engraved foliate decoration. There are two retained rivets within the plate.

The metal is mid green/brown in colour with a slightly pitted patina.
