An incomplete cast copper-alloy Post Medieval toggle-clasp from a sword-belt hanger dating to the 16th-17th century. The squared edge of the attachment end is cabled with a shallow horizontal groove below it. The surface between the edge and groove is decorated with very worn angled grooves or cables. Below this the plate narrows and has a circular perforation at the centre, infilled with a circular-sectioned iron rivet with a flattened head. The centre of the plate widens into convexly curved shoulders and sides consisting of three bifurcated points with a large circular aperture in the centre. Extending downwards, the plate again narrows before widening into two bifurcated points either side with another circular-sectioned iron rivet in the centre. A raised and protruding toggle bar sits on top of a narrowed neck. The reverse of the object is concavely curved and undecorated.

The patina on the surfaces is mottled light green and brown in colour.

The toggle-clasp is 41.81mm long, 17.27mm wide and a maximum of 4.92mm thick. The object weighs 6.69 grams.
