A complete but worn Post Medieval silver sixpence of Elizabeth I  (AD 1558-1603) dating to the year AD 1567 on the coin. Second coinage, Coronet cross initial mark. Tower of London mint. North (1991: 134) No. 1997.

Obverse: worn and illegible bust but would have been bust left, ELIZABETH D G ANG [FR ET]HI REGINA with coronet mintmark. Reverse: shield with the royal coat of arms, all divided by a long cross, with date above (1567) and legend around POSVI DEV.'AD IVTOR[E M]'MEV.  The bust has lost almost all detail. 

Diameter: 25.0mm, weight: 2.5grams.
