Fragment of the footplate of an Early Anglo-Saxon copper alloy florid Cruciform brooch of Martin 2015 Group 4. The lower part of a square-framed panel with traces of elaborate counter-relief ornament has lost all of one side and most of the other. It lies above the upper part of a mask with a heavy brow, engraved eyebrows and large eyes. Part of the catchplate remains on the reverse of the panel. All breaks are old. Length 28mm. Width 21.5mm. Thickness excluding catchplate 3.2mm. Weight 6.98g. c.500 - c.570.
