An incomplete cast copper-alloy Medieval annular brooch dating to the period AD 1200-1400. The frame of the brooch is circular in shape and D-shaped in cross-section. A small portion of the frame is narrowed to circular-section where the pin is attached by a loop. The pin loop is D-shaped in cross-section and is divided from the rest of the D-sectioned pin shaft by a single ribbed collar. The rest of the pin shaft is relatively even in width along its length and terminates at an old worn break. The terminal of the pin is missing.
The upper surface of the brooch frame has moulded decoration in the form of raised ribs, though this is very worn. The underside of the frame is flat and undecorated.
The surfaces of the brooch frame and pin have a dark brown patina with occasional light green patination in the recessed areas of the moulding and the narrowed pin bar.
The brooch frame measures 25.1mm diameter and is 2.3mm thick. It weighs 4.20 grams.
