Silver short cross penny of John (1199-1216). London Mint. North (1994)  p. 222, Class 6a, no. 974. It is worn in some places, especially in the lower left part of the legend around the word 'REX' and on the bust. Although faint, a pellet in the left bottom curl can just be made out, the 'E' likely has a spur, and the 'X' is thin.
