Cast copper alloy bead. The bead is circular in plan and suboval in section it is of regular thickness and width and the circular perforation is centrally positioned. There is no casting seam. The original surface survives in good condition with an even mid brown patina. There are small patches of abrasion and exposed surfaces are lighter brown. It is slightly damaged to one side, but this is worn, suggesting that this occurred in antiquity. The bead has a diameter of 13.06mm, is 6.26mm thick and weighs 5.52g. Beads are difficult to date, but given the patination and condition, this bead is probably Late Iron Age or Roman in date.
