An incomplete silver medieval penny of William II (1087-1100), Cross Voided type (North 853; BMC 3) dating c.AD1093-1096, moneyer: Osbern, mint: Lincoln. Ref: North 1994: 192.

Obverse has the crowned bust of the king, between two stars, facing.  The legend reads PILLELM RE.  The obverse has a voided cross  with the legend +OSBRNE ON LINC. 

Diameter: 19.5mm; weight: 1.3g

This is the first penny of William II recorded by the PAS from the NW Midlands.
