An incomplete late Medieval to post medieval cast, copper-alloy double-loop buckle of c. 1350 to 1650 date.
Description: The frame is semi-circular in cross section, being rounded on the front and flat on the reverse. It has oval loops and is waisted adjacent to the narrowed strap bar. Displays an even dark green patina. The pin is missing.
Measurements: Length 21.5mm, width 17.4mm, thickness 2.2mm and weight 2.5g.
Discussion: This common buckle type is recorded extensively on the PAS. Similar buckles can be seen in Whitehead (2007), page 53.
