Object type certainty: Certain

A copper alloy hammered coin probably dating to the Post Medieval period, about 1597-1663: probably a Scottish twopence, or 'turner' or 'bodle' of James VI (1567-1625), Charles I (1625-1649), or Charles II (1649-1685). However, it is only the size and form of the coin which suggests such an identification; it is illegible with possible traces of a thistle on the reverse. The coin has a diameter of 18.8mm, a thickness of 0.9mm, and weighs 1.4g.
